Johnny Angel, 82 of Las Cruces, NM died January 31, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on November 24, 1924, in Las Cruces to Ygnacio and Ascencion Angel. Johnny was a very spiritual man who loved to work. He was also a collector of coins and stamps. Johnny Angel, 82 of Las Cruces, NM died January 31, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. He was born on November 24, 1924, in Las Cruces to Ygnacio and Ascencion Angel. Johnny was a very spiritual man who loved to work. He was also a collector of coins and stamps. Johnny served our country honorably during WWII, serving on both the Pacific and Atlantic front, where he was one of 16 people that survived on a merchant ship that was sunken. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his beloved wife Mabel of the Family home, two sons Johnny Angel Jr. of Albuquerque, NM, Gary Angel of Reno, NV; one daughter Lynda Harrison and husband Larry of Montrose, CO; one brother Ygnacio Angel of Las Cruces, NM, and six grandchildren Tami, Rohrig, Sloan, Lance, Heather, Gary, and six great-grandchildren One brother, Joe Angel and two sisters Nina Bolanco and Elisa Angel preceded Johnny in death. A visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Monday February 5, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home where the prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. Funeral Services will be taking place on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at 10 AM also at Getz Funeral Home with burial follow at Masonic Cemetery.
