Jonnie C. Burroughs, passed away on June 28, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM He was born in Miltonvale, Kansas on December 26, 1927. Jonnie C. Burroughs, passed away on June 28, 2009 at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, NM He was born in Miltonvale, Kansas on December 26, 1927. After graduating from Kansas State University he served in the US Army in various stateside assignments and in Korea, Turkey, Germany, and Viet Nam where he was awarded the Bronze Star. He married the late Annette Marie Odile Marchal of France on March 31, 1958. Upon retiring from the Army at Ft. Bliss, TX Jonnie and Annette settled in El Paso, TX where he was a realtor and vice president of Hovious Associates. He had a passion for golf and enjoyed playing with his friends and most especially with his grandsons, Brian and Christopher. Jonnie and Annette moved to a golf course community in Las Cruces, NM in 2000 where he enjoyed both playing and watching other golfers as they passed his home on the 15th fairway. Jonnie is survived by his daughter, Annie Noel and her husband Richard Shelburne of Las Cruces, NM; grandson, Christopher Burmeister and his wife Kathleen of Albuquerque, NM; grandson Brian Noel, his wife Julie and great grandson Sebastian Jonnie of Denver, CO; grandson Richard Shelburne of Las Cruces, NM; grandson Michael Shelburne and his wife Nonnie Kaye and great grandchildren Paige, Justin, and Jason of Silver Spring, MD; and grandson Christopher Shelburne of Houston, TX. A service to celebrate the life of Jonnie Burroughs will take place at the First Christian Church, 1809 El Paseo Road, in Las Cruces, NM at 10 am on Monday, July 13, 2009 with the Rev.
