Jose Cruz was born January 31, 1927 in Rodey, New Mexico to Albino and Louisa Tellez, He was a retired laborer who loved his western movies and enjoyed watching TV. Jose Cruz Barela Tellez, 80 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Friday, March 16, 2007 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jose Cruz was born January 31, 1927 in Rodey, New Mexico to Albino and Louisa Tellez, He was a retired laborer who loved his western movies and enjoyed watching TV. Jose Cruz's love of hunting and fishing was one of his greatest joys. Jose Cruz is survived by his loving wife, Olivia Sanchez Tellez; four sons, Lano S. Tellez of Las Cruces, NM, Gilbert S. Tellez of Mesa, AZ, NM, Ray S. Tellez of Mesa, AZ; and Rick Tellez of Harrigate, TN. Five daughters Mary T. Charleston of Colorado Springs, CO, Linda S. Tellez of Las Cruces, Olivia T. Wright of Las Cruces, NM, Susie T. Morales of Las Cruces, NM; and Sandra T. Sotelo of Harrigate, TN. Also surviving are three brothers, Augustine B. Tellez of Las Cruces, NM; Ramon B. Tellez of Roswell, NM; and Jesus B. Tellez of Las Cruces, NM and five sisters, Angelita T. Leon; Anita T. Garcia; Paula T. Belmontez; Albina T. Montoya, and Corina T. Guerrero all of Las Cruces, NM. 31 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren also survive Jose Cruz. Jose Cruz was preceded in death by a son, Jose Cruz Tellez and a daughter, Ramona (Mona) Tellez Kane. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be his grandsons. PDF Printable Version
