Jose Florencio Telles (J.F., Lyncho , Grandpa) passed peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at home with his family and dog by his side. Born December 3, 1923, in San Miguel, NM to Augustin and Ascencion Telles. While Jose came from humble beginning he was one of the most blessed beings on this earth. While being forced to stop school at a very young age, his success was due to hard work, a demand for perfection, a strong faith in the Lord, and keeping his word. After working for many farmers at the age of 17, he left to inlist in the Army in 1942. He served his country during WWII as a military police officer. Upon arriving home in the Mesilla Valley, he met and married his yellow rose of Texas, Dora M. They continued to reside and raise a family in this beautiful valley where he retired from SWIG Cotton as a Superintendent. After retiring their love of life was family, traveling and "Viva Las Vegas". He is proceeded in death by The love of his life, Dora Matta Telles; both parents; Siblings; Jose Benjamin Telles; Alfredo Tellez; Ramon Telles; Olfia Telles Uribe; Robert Telles; Juanita Telles Baxter; Edwardo (Lalo) Telles; Lucia Telles Nichels . Jose is survived by his children; Richard Matta Telles, Arturo Matta Telles (Glenna), a sibling, is Felix Telles from Clovis, California. Grandchildren: Rosalinda S. Almaguer (Paul); Richard Mathew (Matt) Telles, Audra V. Telles, Frances Adelina Telles. Great grandchildren: Danika Almaguer, Taylor Almaguer, Cameron Almaguer and Richard Malachi Telles. With many cousins, nephew and nieces that were very close to his heart. A prayer vigil will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 10:00 am, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, with the funeral mass to follow at 10:30 am.
