Jose L. Holguin, at the age of 83 went to be with our Lord on April 30, 2007. Jose was born on May 19, 1923 in San Felipe, Chihuahua, Mexico to Pilar and Julia Holguin. He was a decorated World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion Post # 2, Tempe, AZ, and the VFW Post 4384 in Anthony, NM. Jose L. Holguin, at the age of 83 went to be with our Lord on April 30, 2007. Jose was born on May 19, 1923 in San Felipe, Chihuahua, Mexico to Pilar and Julia Holguin. He was a decorated World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion Post # 2, Tempe, AZ, and the VFW Post 4384 in Anthony, NM. Jose was retired from WSMR and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Mesquite, NM. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Guadalupe M. Holguin, his six loving children, Jesus Jose Holguin and his wife Rosalinda Indio - CA; Evangelina Medina and her husband Alonzo - Chamberino, NM; Cecelia Gallegos and her husband Jesus - Vado, NM; Veronica Holguin - Mesquite, NM; Andres Holguin and his wife Virginia - San Antonio, TX; and Daniel Holguin and his wife Nancy - San Antonio, TX. One sister, Esther Torres and her husband Manuel - Corpus Christi, TX and one brother, Enrique Holguin and his wife Soledad - Sun City, CA also survive Jose. He had 14 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Pilar and Julia Holguin; two brothers, Rudolfo and Francisco Holguin; two sisters, Lola Ortega and Lilia Hinojos; his in laws, Francisco and Anita Mesa and two brother-in-laws, Bebe Angulo and Manuel Mesa. Bliss National Cemetery at 11:30 AM. Serving, as pallbearers will be Jesus Jose, Francisco and Tomas Gallegos and Alonzo Patrick, Jacob Adam and Dominic Justin Medina. Reception to follow interment at VFW Post 4384 in Anthony, New Mexico. The family would like to give special thanks to Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada staff, for their loving care and attention.
