Jose L. Polanco, "Chacho", 75, of Las Cruces, NM, died peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Jose L. Polanco, "Chacho", 75, of Las Cruces, NM, died peacefully on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center after a long illness. "Chacho", as he was affectionately known, was born on March 10, 1932 in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jose and Cruzita Lucero Polanco. He was an area resident since 1957. He retired from the Chino Mines in Santa Rita, New Mexico. Chacho was a member of the Catholic Church and was active with the Munson Senior Citizens Center. He lived an exciting life and there isn't one thing that can truly describe his adventurous nature. His mischievous smile only added to his mystique. One thing is for certain his love for his family was second to none. He will forever be remembered as a loving grandfather, father, husband, uncle, and friend. He is survived by two sons, Cesar Polanco and wife Socorro of Las Cruces; and Rigoberto Polanco and wife Kodie of Albuquerque, NM, one daughter Rosemary Polanco of Las Cruces, NM, two sisters Maria Concepcion Polanco and Manuela Sandoval both of Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, MX and one grandson, Cesar Valles Polanco. He was preceded in death by his daughter Maria de Jesus and wife Magdalena. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Friday, August 31, 2007 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. Officiating the Liturgy will be Fr. Juan Moreno. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be Joe, Ruben, Eddie, and Cesar Polanco, Peter Lopez Jr. and Rogelio Sandoval. PDF Printable Version
