Jose M. Duran 94, of Las Cruces, NM died Monday Oct. 18, 2010. He was born June 16, 1916 to Onecimo and Estefana Duran in Hatch, NM. He was a devoted Catholic and was retired after many years of faithful service from W.S.M.R. Jose was a member of the Moose Lodge, liked going to the Community Center to visit with his friends and was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishi...
Jose M. Duran 94, of Las Cruces, NM died Monday Oct. 18, 2010. He was born June 16, 1916 to Onecimo and Estefana Duran in Hatch, NM. He was a devoted Catholic and was retired after many years of faithful service from W.S.M.R. Jose was a member of the Moose Lodge, liked going to the Community Center to visit with his friends and was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, picking pinions, carpentry and animals. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his sons Rudy G. Duran and wife Ramona of Las Cruces, Oscar G. Duran and Tommy Duran both of Fairacres. daughters Sylvia G. Duran of Las Cruces, Elena Alvarez and husband JR and Alicia G. Duran all of Fairacres, NM; Also surviving Jose are his 18 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Regina G. Duran and daughter Adelina G. Duran, brothers Sam and Necho Duran and sister Sally Provencio. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday October 21, 2010 at Getz funeral Home with a prayer vigil to Follow at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass Will be at 10 am on Friday October 22, 2010 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Father Don Adamski officiating. Rite of committal will follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Paul Duran, David Flores, Jeremy Duran, James R. Ketcherside, Doris Rios and Debbie Ketcherside. Honorary Pallbearers are, Robert Rios, Danny Duran, Rudy G. Duran and Oscar G.
