Jose O. "Compa" Escamilla, 78, a resident of Las Cruces, entered eternal life Feb. 3, 2009. He was born March 22, 1930 in Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico. He moved to El Paso in 1955 and then resident of Las Cruces in 1975. Jose Escamilla was a mechanic for 55 years and worked at several places in town such as the Diagnostic Center, University Texaco and Las Cruces Transmissions. He was a member of Las Cruces First Assembly. Jose was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all his family and many friends who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Ana Maria Escamilla of the family home; daughter Maria Escamilla, their sons Joe Escamilla and wife Monica, Raul Escamilla and wife Mary and Louie Escamilla all of Las Cruces, Pascual Escamilla and wife Ninfa of Albuquerque, Javier Escamilla and wife MaryAnn of Corpus Christi, TX and Johnny Escamilla and wife Sally of Las Cruces. Other survivors include 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Sisters- Beatrice and husband Ricardo Gutierrez, Eloy Olivares and Blanca Gaytan. Brother- Enrique and wife Rosa Escamilla. There are many aunts, uncles and cousins who are too great to mention all of them. He was preceded in death by parents Jesus and Soledad Escamilla; brother Jesus Escamilla; sister Margarita Morales and niece Alma Escamilla Gaytan. A visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Thursday, Feb. 5, 2009 at First Assembly of God where a prayer service will follow at 7 PM. Funeral Services are at 1:00 PM on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 also at First Assembly of God, 5605 Bataan Memorial West with Pastor Cesar Tellez and Pastor David Vistine officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jose's sons and grandsons. PDF Printable Version
