Jose R. Aguilera Sr., 73 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1932 in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Pablo and Maria Ramos Aguilera. A lifelong area resident he worked in the mines and in the construction industry at several locations. Jose R. Aguilera Sr., 73 years old of Las Cruces, NM died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center. He was born December 27, 1932 in Lordsburg, New Mexico to Pablo and Maria Ramos Aguilera. A lifelong area resident he worked in the mines and in the construction industry at several locations. He most recently worked at the Dona Ana County Detention Center but retired to spend time with his wife. Jose loved the outdoors and working on his house. He and his wife of 31 years, Mary, loved to camp, fish and boat. Jose was also a member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary and her children, Nora Lujan, Genevieve Zertuche, and Gilbert Lujan. Also surviving him are his children from a previous marriage, Joe Aguilera Jr., Benito Aguilera, Eddie Aguilera, Adam Aguilera, Diane Aguilera, and Rebecca Rodela. One brother, Pablo Ramirez and two sisters, Rita Marquez and Sara Villalba. Also surviving Jose are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 PM on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Getz Funeral Home. The Prayer Vigil will be follow at 7 PM at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Thursday, January 26, 2006 also at St Genevieve's Catholic Church and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers are Manuel Ruiz Jr., Armando Ruiz, Eliberto Ruiz, Jose Perez, Ronnie Zertuche, and Martin Barela. Honorary pallbearers will be his sons. PDF Printable Version
