Jose V. Holguin

Jose V. Holguin, 82, of Las Cruces died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009. He was born Dec. 13, 1926 in Garfield, NM to Alejandro and Juanita Vallejos Holguin. Mr. Holguin will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Aurelia Casillas Holguin of the family home; two daughters Betty and husband Luis Aldaco of El Paso, TX and Mary and husband Epifanio Torres of T or C, NM; three sons Manuel (Leo) Holguin of Lake Worth, FLA, James Holguin and Alex Holguin and wife Veronica all of Las Cruces; nine grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Also surviving him is his sister Helen Garcia of San Jose, CA and by numerous nephews and nieces. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Getz Funeral Home where a Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 pm. Jose's Funeral Mass is at 10 am on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Rite of Committal to follow at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be Amado Casillas, Alex Holguin Jr., Epifanio Torres Jr., David Trejo, Desi Holguin and Matthew Holguin. PDF Printable Version
