Josefa (Pita) Ontiveros Aldaz was 80 years old when the angels called her home on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. She passed away in El Paso, Texas. She was born on July 18, 1934, in Berino, New Mexico, a small rural farming community. She was an extraordinary homemaker and a life-long resident of Anthony, New Mexico. Pita was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend that provided her children with continuous and unconditional love and support. She was our strong and loving foundation and streamed her positive energy to encourage her children's lives' dreams. She was a strong advocate of her children establishing goals to achieve higher levels of education. She strongly believed that anyone could work hard enough to achieve their goals. She loved and adored her grandchildren and taking care of them. Pita had a green thumb and could make anything grow. She loved gardening and tending to her rose garden and lawn and could take a bud and make it blossom just as she did with her children. Another talent was her creativity that was exhibited in her arts and crafts which she lovingly gave to her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed and forever dearly loved. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Margarito (Chito) Aldaz, her parents Roman Ontiveros and Natividad Lara Ontiveros. Left to cherish her memory are her six children, Martha (Lupe) Chavez of Las Cruces, NM; Raul (Rosa) Aldaz of Ogden, Utah; Samuel (Dominga) Aldaz of El Paso, Texas; Priscilla (Rick ) Gutierrez of La Union, NM; Elizabeth "Betty" Mowles of Mesilla Park, NM; Terrie Sue "Susie" (Stephan) Haisan of El Paso, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Hortencia Ontiveros of Mesilla Park and three brothers, Adolfo Ontiveros of Las Cruces, NM; Humberto Ontiveros of Mesilla Park, NM; Arturo Ontiveros of Socorro, NM. She will be greatly missed by 10 loving grandchildren and 9 loving great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Michael Haisan, Kevin Gutierrez, Brinton Mowles, Stephan Haisan, Lupe Chavez, and Pat Sambrano. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Mowles, Humberto, Arturo, and Adolfo Ontiveros.
