Josefa Silva Orvis, 73, of Las Cruces, died Monday, June 18, 2007. She was born October 17, 1933 in Anthony, NM to Jose and Francisca Montez Silva. Josefa was a very active and energetic person who enjoyed traveling the world over. She was an avid sports fan who liked to watch football on TV but her passion was for her family. Josefa Silva Orvis, 73, of Las Cruces, died Monday, June 18, 2007. She was born October 17, 1933 in Anthony, NM to Jose and Francisca Montez Silva. Josefa was a very active and energetic person who enjoyed traveling the world over. She was an avid sports fan who liked to watch football on TV but her passion was for her family. Josefa will be deeply missed by all her family and many friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son Franklin Eric Lopez-Orvis of Albuquerque, NM; her daughter Priscilla O. Sharp and husband Steven of Las Cruces; brother Salvadore Silva and wife Josie of Las Cruces; sisters Eva Camunez and husband Richard of Houston, TX, Lucy Martinez, Eusebia Mark and Mary Lou Benavidez all of Las Cruces; grandchildren Kenneth JR., Jonathan Eric Kephart and Joni Marie Kephart James and husband Zach and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Josefa was preceded in death by her parents. Memorial Services to celebrate her life will be held at a later date. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Adobe and Mesilla Valley Hospice for the wonderful care shown to our mother.
