Joseph Blasczyk, age 78, of Las Cruces, NM and long-time resident of Chicago, IL went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 25, 2023, while surrounded by his family. Joseph Blasczyk, age 78, of Las Cruces, NM and long-time resident of Chicago, IL went Home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 25, 2023, while surrounded by his family. He was born in Passaic, NJ on December 21, 1944, to Joseph and Marian Blasczyk and was the elder brother of one sister, Ruth L. (Blasczyk) Brown of Las Cruces, NM. Joe went to Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL from 1962-1965 and then went on to Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL from 1965-1968 where he graduated with a BA in History. Following NIU, Joe went to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL from 1968-1971. Joe graduated from Trinity with a Master of Divinity. Upon his graduation from Trinity in 1971 and for the next 40 years, Joe faithfully served at Hoyne Avenue Wesleyan Church. Joe served as the Associate Pastor until 2000 when he was asked to fill the Senior Pastor role, which he did until his retirement in 2011. Joe had a real heart for missions and a burden for the lost. He led his church by example teaching them the importance of self-denial so that others may come to know Jesus. Upon retiring in Las Cruces, NM Joe attended Grace Bible Church where he served as an Elder. Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Donna; a sister Ruth L. (Dr. M.E.) Brown; two sisters-in-law, Kathy (Dale) Lundmark, and Gail Mersch; one niece, Joy (Ruben) Caballero, and several great nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph...

Arrangements have been entrusted to Getz Funeral Home and Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Dave Poland of Grace Bible Church officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday April 7, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. to be followed by the burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Showers of Grace, www.showersofgrace.com. or Grace Bible Church, www.gracelascruces.com. First Visitation
