Joseph H. Fellabaum, (100), of Las Cruces, New Mexico, peacefully passed away on March 5th, 2023. Joseph, fondly known as Joe, was born November 4th, 1922, in San Marcial, NM. He served in the Navy for 4 years during WWII, and was honorably discharged in 1945. He earned his private pilot's license in 1947 and was able to fly single engine airplanes which he loved and reminisced abou...
Joseph H. Fellabaum, (100), of Las Cruces, New Mexico, peacefully passed away on March 5th, 2023. Joseph, fondly known as Joe, was born November 4th, 1922, in San Marcial, NM. He served in the Navy for 4 years during WWII, and was honorably discharged in 1945. He earned his private pilot's license in 1947 and was able to fly single engine airplanes which he loved and reminisced about often. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, retiring in 1982. He and his beloved wife Evon of 77 years, loved to travel, visit family and enjoyed square dancing their way across the US. Joe is survived by his wife Evon and two daughters, Gail St. John (Curt) of Las Cruces and Paula Schroeder (Brian) of Alamogordo, three Grandchildren, Tamara Ryan (Mike) of Ft. Worth, Joseph St. John of Las Cruces and John Mitchell (Corinne) of Dallas and three Great Grandchildren, Michaela, Cameron and Walker. He's preceded in death by daughter Donna Torres of Las Cruces. Arrangements are through Getz Funeral home in Las Cruces, NM. Per his request, cremation has taken place and interment will be at Ft Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
