Josephine "Josie" Barela, age 87, peacefully went to be with our Lord after a battle with dementia on February 8, 2022. Survived by her devoted husband, Willie T. Barela of 66 years and loving daughters Maya, Diana, Nancy, Luci, Betty Jo, and Judi. She will be greatly missed by her family including: her sister Ernestina, 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She loved us so m...
Josephine "Josie" Barela, age 87, peacefully went to be with our Lord after a battle with dementia on February 8, 2022. Survived by her devoted husband, Willie T. Barela of 66 years and loving daughters Maya, Diana, Nancy, Luci, Betty Jo, and Judi. She will be greatly missed by her family including: her sister Ernestina, 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She loved us so much that when we made her angry, she would say, "God Bless You!!" Josie devoted her life to her family and Our Lady of Heath Catholic Church where she was a lifelong member and Eucharistic Minister. Pall bearers will be represented by her grandsons and great-grandsons; Loney, Johnny, Meridius, Sammy, Matthew, and Cameron. Services will be held at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church on Thursday February 17, 2022, beginning with recitation of Rosary at 10:30 with Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00. Interment of cremains will follow in the Columbarium. Service Information
