Josie F. Gonzales, 82 of Las Cruces, NM passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 26, 1925 in Las Cruces to Miguel and Rosa Duran Flores. Josie was retired from the Las Cruces Public School Systems and was a member of the Catholic Church. Josie F. Gonzales, 82 of Las Cruces, NM passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007, peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born February 26, 1925 in Las Cruces to Miguel and Rosa Duran Flores. Josie was retired from the Las Cruces Public School Systems and was a member of the Catholic Church. She is survived by three sons, Robert Gonzales of Las Cruces; Edward Gonzales of Phoenix, AZ; and Terry Gonzales of Albuquerque, NM. Two daughters, Lucy Baca of Albuquerque, NM and Racheal Gonzales of Rio Ranch, NM. Also surviving Josie are two sisters, Kelly Padilla and Elisa Sanchez both of Las Cruces. She has 12 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Josie was preceded in death by her parents, Miguel and Rosa; three brothers, Frankie Flores, Pete Flores and Miguel Flores and two sisters, Lupe Gomez and Marian Mendez. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Getz Funeral Home where the Rosary will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, 1178 N. Mesquite St. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Officiating will be the Fathers from the Order of the Augustinian Recollects. Serving, as pallbearers will be James Gonzales, Rick Murillo, Raymond Padilla, Benjamin Padilla, Danny Sanchez and Ralph Flores.
