Juan B. De Herrera, 92 of Las Cruces, NM died peacefully at his home on Monday, June 12, 2006. Juan was born August 11, 1913 in Costilla, New Mexico to Meliton and Lupe De Herrera. Juan B. De Herrera, 92 of Las Cruces, NM died peacefully at his home on Monday, June 12, 2006. Juan was born August 11, 1913 in Costilla, New Mexico to Meliton and Lupe De Herrera. Juan had retired from Santa Rita Mines in Silver City, NM and had lived in California for a time. Juan was also a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by his two sons, Robert S. De Herrera and his wife Sara of Las Cruces, NM; and Valdamar "Ben" De Herrera of Silver City, NM. Two daughters, Evelyn Rivera of Silver City, NM and Romaine Jimenez of Downey, CA. One brother Valdamar De Herrera and his wife Connie of Alamogordo, NM and two sisters Maxine De Herrera of Taos, NM and Sandra Livingston of Denver, CO. Also surviving Juan are 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Juan was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Louisa, and four brothers, Junior De Herrera, Billy De Herrera, Ernesto De Herrera, and Carlos De Herrera. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, June 15, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where the Prayer Vigil will follow at 7 PM. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10 AM on Friday, June 16, 2006 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Rev. Andres Alava officiating. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Serving, as pallbearers will be Bobby De Herrera, Jacob May, Robert De Herrera, Gerald De Herrera, Ben De Herrera and Ramiro Zavala. PDF Printable Version
