Juan “John” Arrieta, 68, of Las Cruces, NM passed away in his home on May 15, 2024. He was the youngest of four children born on June 24, 1955, in Fabens, TX to parents Eugenio and Angela Arrieta, with siblings Connie Groce, Gene Arrieta, and Estella Quinones. He graduated from Fabens High School in 1974 and attended El Paso Community College. John married his high school sweetheart...
Juan “John” Arrieta, 68, of Las Cruces, NM passed away in his home on May 15, 2024. He was the youngest of four children born on June 24, 1955, in Fabens, TX to parents Eugenio and Angela Arrieta, with siblings Connie Groce, Gene Arrieta, and Estella Quinones. He graduated from Fabens High School in 1974 and attended El Paso Community College. John married his high school sweetheart, Lidia Lujan, on September 2, 1975, in El Paso, TX.
He worked for many years at NASA as a carpenter. John was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping and hunting. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs, playing baseball, and working in his garden. He loved all sports, especially football, his favorite team was the Cincinnati Bengals. He became a born again Christian and was a faithful member of Las Cruces First.
John is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lidia Arrieta (Las Cruces, NM) and his daughters Mandy Andrade (Jeremiah) (Las Cruces, NM) and Jennifer Arrieta (Roberto) (El Paso, TX). He also leaves behind his granddaughters Hana and Kalea Andrade. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugenio (1984), and his mother, Angela (2018).
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in Las Cruces, NM at Getz Funeral Home beginning at 11:00 am with Pastor Christian Concepcion officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Las Cruces, NM.
