It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Juanita Navarrette, who departed this world peacefully on October 31, 2023. Juanita passed at age 87 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Juanita was a beacon of light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She found joy in being a devout Jehovah’s Witness, a loving mother and a cherished grandmother. Her love for nature gave her solace as she could often be found enjoying long walks. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and grace that lives on in her children and grandchildren.


Juanita was born on August 15th, 1936 in Valparaiso Zacatecas to Ambrosio Navarrette and Jasinta Ferrer. Her memory will live on through her five children Berta Paredes and her husband Alfonso Gonzalez, Francisco Cruz and his wife Josefina Cruz, Eugeno Paredes and his wife Susana Paredes, Zenorina Ramirez, Mario Navarrette and his wife Angie Rodriguez-Navarrette. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, Wendy Paredes, Nancy Paredes, Alfonso Paredes, Alan Paredes, Abril Paredes, Hugo Cruz, Marisol Cruz, David Cruz, Joe Cruz, Eugene Paredes, Julie Paredes Acosta, Aida Baylon, Marlene Villa, Johnny Villa, Crystal Archuleta, Mario Navarrette Jr., Arabella Navarrette, 29 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.


Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons Eugene Paredes, Hugo Cruz, David Cruz, Johnny Villa, Joe Cruz, Mario Navarrette Jr. Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandsons David Ray Cruz, Gabriel Hernandez and Joaquin Baylon.




Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 5pm to 7 pm. A second visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 9am followed by the funeral services at 10am with interment at San Albino Cemetery.
