Judith Ann Cline, 66, of Mesilla Park passed away at home on Saturday, May 10th, 2008, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 19th, 1941 in Ducktown, Tennessee to J. Paul and Barbara Kemp. Judy married Travis Ward in 1960 and was a loving mother to their three daughters. In 1982, she married Larry Cline, and embraced his children as her own. She grew up in Tucumcari, NM and attended New Mexico State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology in 1970. After a nearly 20 year career as a Medical Technologist at Memorial Medical Center, she followed her dream of becoming a counselor by earning her Masters degree in Counseling and Education Psychology from NMSU. She worked in various settings in New Mexico, Arizona, and California, concluding her counseling career at the State of New Mexico Correctional Institute. She was an avid reader, enjoyed completing puzzles, tending to her roses, bowling, and was an active member of her church. She was also a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 9515 in Portales, NM. In addition to her husband Larry, she is survived by her parents J. Paul and Barbara Kemp of Las Cruces, NM; brother Stephen P. Kemp of Portales, NM; daughter April Ward of Flower Mound, TX; daughter Robin Ward Thompson also of Flower Mound, TX; daughter Melanie Ward Powley and her husband John of Plainville, MA; step-son L.J. Cline of Mesilla Park, NM, step-son Brandon Cline of Heidelberg, Germany, step-daughter Kathleen Cline of Hobbs, NM; five grandchildren, Casey, Troy, Avery, Nathan, and Jennifer; and one great-grandchild, Carter. She was preceded in death by her step-son Michael Cline. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, May 13th, 2008 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 2:00 P.M. Burial of cremains will take place at a later date with a private family service. Officiating will be Rev. Gorton Smith. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice 299 E.
