Judy grew up in Beverly Hills, California, with her grandparents, Justus and Bessie Frudden, and attended school with future celebrities including Elizabeth Taylor and Jane Fonda. One of her fondest memories was attending a bar-b-cue at the home of Jimmy Stewart, where he was kind enough to make her a sandwich. Judy graduated from East High School in Denver and attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins. She had a varied career as an entrepreneur. Judy managed restaurants and bowling alleys in Colorado, and moved to Las Cruces in 1976 when she became an owner of the Palms Best Western Hotel. Later, she moved to southern California where she was the president of Force Air One Technology. In her spare time she worked on game creation, one of which was " Jargonn ," a game that eventually became known as "Balderdash." When Judy returned to Las Cruces, she worked as the Auction Manager for KRWG-TV, as well as in other jobs in sales and marketing for local radio stations and Del Valle Printing. Judy loved interior decorating, gardening, reading, crossword puzzles, and cooking. She was well known for making wonderful meals for family and friends. She was a Conquistador with the Las Cruces Chamber of Commerce, served as secretary for Mesilla Valley Civitan, volunteered for political campaigns, and was an avid Brownie leader, Girl Scout leader, and Cub Scout den mother when her children were growing up. She will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her fabulous taste, her wonderfully creative ideas, and her entrepreneurial spirit.
