Judy Snow, 62, of Las Cruces died Monday, June 21, 2010 of causes incident to age and failing health. She was born Judith Lee Pender, June 26, 1947 in Albuquerque, NM and was the only child of Horace (H.E.) and Lorene Pender. Judy lived her first two years in Quemado, NM before her family returned to Arkansas and settled in Foreman for the next 10 years. When she was 12 years old her family again moved to NM settling in Socorro where Judy graduated from Socorro High School. After high school Judy joined the Women's Army Corp and was stationed in Alabama. Judy married John L. Snow of El Paso, TX on May 28, 1966. They became the parents of one daughter. Judy lived with her little family in Organ, NM until her husband's death in 1977; then she moved to Las Cruces where she continued to reside until the time of her death. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which was a joy and blessing in her life. She loved serving in the church and, until her health declined, could be found enjoying and participating in the various church activities. Judy is survived by her daughter JJ (Mike) Hartwell and six grandchildren of Idaho. Judy wanted to thank her dear friends who helped her with house and yard work, transportation to doctor's appointments, and the many, many hours and acts of service that she received. The family of Judy Snow would like to thank the staff of Rehabilitation Center of Southern New Mexico and especially Dr. Kim Encapera for the care Judy (and her family and friends) received. We could not have asked for, nor found, more compassion and support than we found with you and your facility. We, the family, would also like to thank the many special people who have watched over and helped Judy through the years. Your friendship and love for her touches us deeply and her life was blessed by each of you. A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Getz Funeral Home and from 10:00-10:45 am on Friday prior to the funeral services at the Venus Street chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, June 25, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Venus Street chapel. In lieu of flowers, Judy requested donations be made to your favorite charity or the Humane Society. PDF Printable Version
