Karl Ralph Conrad, 52, beloved son, brother and uncle, passed from this world on May 31, 2016 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M. He was born on August 13, 1963 to George R. Conrad and Juliana Silva Conrad in Las Cruces, N.M. During his middle school years, his family resided near Buffalo, N.Y. where his artistic talent was recognized and he was afforded an opportunity to study art at a summer program at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. This awakened a life-long love of contemporary art and architecture. His family returned to Las Cruces, N.M. where he graduated from Mayfield High School. He went on to study art and the humanities at the University of New Mexico, earning a Bachelor's Degree in University Studies. He found employment in management at Wild Oats in Albuquerque, N.M. and, later, at Whole Foods in Santa Fe, N.M. He continued to paint and also continued his interest in art and architecture by serving as a moderator for an on-line international architecture forum. Karl's generous heart, creativity, intelligence and wit will be deeply missed by those left to mourn him. Karl is survived by his mother Juliana Conrad, sisters Celeste Conrad and Laura Myers, his brother-in-law, Timothy Myers; his nieces, Crystal Berger, Danielle Scott and Bianca Myers. He is also survived by his uncle, James Conrad and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, George Conrad and brother, Eric Conrad. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday June 7, 2016 at 1:00pm at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S Espina St, Las Cruces, NM 88001.
