Katherine Frona Mae Scott, 84, Las Cruces resident since 1954, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009. She was born Oct. 24, 1924 in Van Buren, AR. to Verge and Tessie Richmond. She and her husband have resided in Las Cruces since 1954. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put her beautiful family first. Katherine Frona Mae Scott, 84, Las Cruces resident since 1954, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009. She was born Oct. 24, 1924 in Van Buren, AR. to Verge and Tessie Richmond. She and her husband have resided in Las Cruces since 1954. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always put her beautiful family first. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Arthur Scott of the family home; sons Charles E. Scott of Abington, VA and David W. Scott of Y.N.P. Wyoming; daughter Mary Katherine Chartier of Aurora, CO; grandchildren Todd E. Chartier of Mansfield, TX, Tamara K. Chartier of Aurora, CO, Jamie E. Saunders of Little Elm, TX and Jason M Scott of Arlington, TX; three sisters Josephine Cox of Van Buren, AR, Emma Lou Harrell of Dothan, AL and Elizabeth Lea Mason of Van Buren, AR. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, brothers V.R., Bill, Paul and Harold Richmond. Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 30. 2009 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. David Jones of the University United Methodist Church. The Family requests that donations be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice 299 E. Montana 88005 (523-4700).
