Kathleen S. Higgs, 69, of Las Cruces, NM died Friday, October 18, 2013. Kathleen was born to Jacob and Helen Saranczak on July 20, 1944 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In May of 1971 Kathleen enlisted in US Navy, where she served her country honorably as a registered nurse. In 1976 she married Richard Higgs. Kathleen S. Higgs, 69, of Las Cruces, NM died Friday, October 18, 2013. Kathleen was born to Jacob and Helen Saranczak on July 20, 1944 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. In May of 1971 Kathleen enlisted in US Navy, where she served her country honorably as a registered nurse. In 1976 she married Richard Higgs. They moved to Las Cruces that same year and had two children; Jonathan and Joshua. Kathleen loved reading, needlepoint crocheting and her pets. She was very strong in her Catholic faith. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Richard Higgs, Sons Jonathan Higgs (Christan) of Spring Lake, North Carolina, and Joshua of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Grandchildren; Jocyln, Paul, Gabriel and Ethan. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2013 from 5-7pm, in the Getz Funeral Home Chapel. A Prayer Vigil is scheduled for Thursday, at 9:30AM with the Funeral Liturgy to begin at 10:00AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
