Kenneth "Ken" Mills passed away on September 21, 2023. Kenneth enjoyed 80 years of life and spent many happy days camping, horseback riding and hunting in the Gila Wilderness. Kenneth was born on January 8, 1943, in Cartwright Oklahoma. His family moved to Las Cruces in 1953. He attended local schools and graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1961. Kenneth "Ken" Mills passed away on September 21, 2023. Kenneth enjoyed 80 years of life and spent many happy days camping, horseback riding and hunting in the Gila Wilderness. Kenneth was born on January 8, 1943, in Cartwright Oklahoma. His family moved to Las Cruces in 1953. He attended local schools and graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1961. In his youth Kenneth was active in Boy Scouts and FFA groups. He was on the wrestling and cross-country teams at LCHS. Kenneth trained as an automotive mechanic and worked at several shops before opening Ken Mills Automotive in 1980. He retired in 2010.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Donna, his daughter Sherry Sanderson, a grandson Jared Mills, a granddaughter Samantha Kretz (Lyle) and two great grandsons Guy and Kenneth Kretz. He is also survived by a sister, a nephew, a niece, his aunt Peggy Gibson (Ed) and numerous cousins.
Cremation has taken place. The family will arrange a celebration of life service to honor Kenneth at a later date.
