Kenneth F. Bates, 56, of Las Cruces, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012. Kenny as he was fondly known was born Nov. 17, 1956 in Sullivan, Indiana to Jay and Doris Bates. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served our country honorably. Kenny enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, working with wood and drawing but his passion was for his family. Kenneth F. Bates, 56, of Las Cruces, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2012. Kenny as he was fondly known was born Nov. 17, 1956 in Sullivan, Indiana to Jay and Doris Bates. He was a veteran of the US Army where he served our country honorably. Kenny enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, working with wood and drawing but his passion was for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of 17 years Debi Bates of the family home; two children Michael and DeAnna Bates; brother Jerry Hill and wife Becky; Aunts Barbara Nicholson, Nancy White and husband Ray; brother-in-law Donnie Cogdill and wife Michelle and sister-in-law Barbara Aaron and husband David and by many nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of his life will be at 10 am on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012 on the Rio Grande River at the Picacho bridge with James Francis of Hobbs, NM officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the New Mexico Boys and Girls Ranch. PDF Printable Version
