Kenneth R. Potvin, 80 years old, a resident of Las Cruces, NM since 1957, passed away at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada, on Monday, October 17, 2005. He was born June 11, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Ralph and Marie Potvin. Kenneth R. Potvin, 80 years old, a resident of Las Cruces, NM since 1957, passed away at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada, on Monday, October 17, 2005. He was born June 11, 1925 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Ralph and Marie Potvin. He grew to love New Mexico while serving at White Sands Missile Range, and after retirement from the Navy in 1969, became an insurance agent until he was forced to curtail his full time work in the early 1990's because of poor health. Ken is survived by his sisters; Mary Lou Hill of New Richmond, WI; Shirley J. Baker of Las Cruces, NM; Carol R. Meyer of Pierz, MN; JoAnn E. Trutwin of Royalton, MN; 20 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Ralph H. Potvin in 1980; his mother Marie I. Lund in 1992 and a nephew, Michael Kowalczyk in 1987. At Mr. Potvin's request, his body has been donated to Texas Tech University for research. Upon completion of the research he will be cremated and will then have a military burial at sea. There will be a Prayer Vigil at 6:30 PM on Friday, October 25, 2005 at Getz Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Fr. Don J. Adamski, OFM Conv. from Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine and Parish. PDF Printable Version
