Larry Duane Jones, "Red" passed away on January 30, 2012 at the age of 63. He died after a lengthy illness. He was born September 6, 1948 to Howard and Bessie Jones in Tucson, AZ. Larry Duane Jones, "Red" passed away on January 30, 2012 at the age of 63. He died after a lengthy illness. He was born September 6, 1948 to Howard and Bessie Jones in Tucson, AZ. He graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1966 and joined the US Army in 1967. Larry served honorably for 12 years and was stationed in Germany and Korea. He eventually went to work for Ratheon and then Honewell where he retired in 2010. Larry loved hunting, camping, spending time with family and friends and his 1965 Mustang. He entered his antique John Deare tractors and fly wheel engine in the county fair, where he hooked up the fly wheel to make big pots of popcorn and cotton candy. He also had an impressive collection of pilot helmets and John Wayne Memorabilia. Larry is survived by his long time companion, Mariela Delion Gonzalez; his children, Brian, Duane, Adam, Emily and Krystal Jones; his grand children Autumn and Allison Jones and Zachary O. Medina; his parents Howard and Bessie Jones; and siblings, Stanley Jones, Charlene Hiers, Brent Jones and Kent Jones. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his brother H. Dean Jones. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Getz Funeral Home Chapel.
