Larue Fairy Way, was born to Alba and J.E. Barnett in O'Brien, Texas on November 27, 1914. She was the last of ten children to pass away and peacefully went to her eternal home to be with Jesus at Mesilla Valley Hospice, La Posada, Las Cruces, NM on Friday, August 19, 2005 Larue's life was devoted to the gospel ministry, pastoring churches in Oklahoma and evangelizing throughout the West and North Texas Districts of the Assemblies of God. In later years her compassion for youth and children was extensive and will be remembered by many. Larue is survived by her two children and their spouses, Sue and Raymond Schaeffer of Las Cruces, NM and Mert and Shirley Way of Caldwell, TX. Three children preceded her in death. Larue was the grandmother of Dawnita Shockley. She and her husband, Don, are the Pastors of Church on the Rock in Las Cruces. Other survivors also include seven loving grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends will miss her. Funeral Services for Larue were held on Tuesday, August 23rd 2005 in Lubbock, Texas with her grandsons having the honor of being her pallbearers, Gary Schaeffer, Jerry Way, Pat Ehmann, Chad Shockley, Eric Schaeffer and great-grandson S.W.
