Laursie was firstborn of a set of twins born in Silver City, NM on 16 March 1968 to Billy Joe and Lauris Anne Clark. Second twin being Marcy Clark (Huda AlMansour). Laursie also had another sister, Donna Rose, and three brothers, Samuel Clark, George Clark and Patrick Barnes.
After graduating from Hot Springs High School, Laursie married her high school sweetheart, Raymond Looney, Jr, on 8 November, 1990 in Truth or Consequences, NM after he returned from Germany on a tour for the Air Force. Together, they had one son, Michael Looney.
Laursie was a home maker attending college when she quit to take care of her ailing father who needed someone to look out after him. It was Laursie’s nature to help anyone who needed it and even some who did not. She never had anything negative to say about anyone no matter the situation. She always looked for the best in everyone and positive in everything.
Laursie enjoyed helping others, reading, dogs and horses. She loved nature and the color purple. She had one little dog named Holly that was the love of her life for the last three years since losing her husband.
Laursie was a beloved member of University Community Church in Las Cruces where her memorial will be held 7 October at 10:30 in the morning. All who loved her are invited to attend. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother Patrick.
