Lena May Roberts passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at her home of St. Augustine, FL, at the age of 99 and 8 months. She was born Lena May Christerson in Sedan, Kansas to Amos and Mattie Christerson. Lena and her family moved to northern New Mexico where her family established the town of Sedan, New Mexico. Lena May Roberts passed away on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at her home of St. Augustine, FL, at the age of 99 and 8 months. She was born Lena May Christerson in Sedan, Kansas to Amos and Mattie Christerson. Lena and her family moved to northern New Mexico where her family established the town of Sedan, New Mexico. She graduated from Las Vegas Highlands University with a teaching certificate. In 1927 she married Cleo Roberts and the Roberts moved to Las Cruces in 1944 where Lena was a third grade teacher. The Roberts resided in Las Cruces until 1962. A daughter Virginia Glover and her husband Jack of St. Augustine, FL; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild survive Mrs. Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband Cleo and a daughter Mattie Lou Roberts. Graveside Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday March 17, 2005 at Masonic Cemetery in Las Cruces, N.M.
