Leo ‘Rudy' Miranda, 84, of Las Cruces New Mexico joined the Lord on July 5, 2020; he passed peacefully in his home. He was welcomed into paradise by his parents, Refugio Duran and Isidro Miranda, as well as his brothers and one sister. Leo ‘Rudy' Miranda, 84, of Las Cruces New Mexico joined the Lord on July 5, 2020; he passed peacefully in his home. He was welcomed into paradise by his parents, Refugio Duran and Isidro Miranda, as well as his brothers and one sister. Leo was born on May 27, 1936 and resided in Las Cruces the majority of his life. He graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1954. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Navy and bravely fought in the Korean War. When he returned home, he held several management positions in companies such as Lance, Fed-Mart, and Builders Block & Supply. Coaching youth baseball teams, volunteering at several Catholic churches, as well as hosting Bingo are just a few of Leo's contributions to the community. He was also a Dansante for Our Lady of Guadalupe for many years in Tortugas, New Mexico. Leo was a loving husband and a caring father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lucy P. Miranda, sister Eloisa Barerra, five children; Steve Miranda (spouse Annette), Marlene Miranda, Edward Miranda (spouse Norma), Leo Miranda Jr. (spouse Cecillia), Robert Miranda (spouse Olivia), nine grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Leo's services will be held at Our Lady of Health Catholic church on July 24, 2020 at 10 am. **face masks, proper hygiene and social distancing will be REQUIRED per church policy max occupancy is 100 people; please allow immediate family access first** Arrangements by Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E.
