Lilia E. Duran, 81, of Las Cruces died Saturday, March 13, 2010. She was born May 18, 1928 in La Mesa, NM to Luis and Lorenza Espinosa. She was retired from First National Bank after many years of faithful service and also worked for many years at the old FedMart. Lilia E. Duran, 81, of Las Cruces died Saturday, March 13, 2010. She was born May 18, 1928 in La Mesa, NM to Luis and Lorenza Espinosa. She was retired from First National Bank after many years of faithful service and also worked for many years at the old FedMart. She was a member of St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, a sports fan who enjoyed watching golf and the Dallas Cowboys, but her passion was for her family. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her two daughters Mary Ann Padilla and husband Mike and Christine Duran all of Las Cruces; brothers Richard Espinosa and wife Molly of Alamogordo, NM and Rudy Ramirez and wife Evangelina of Carson City, NV; sister Dora Romero of Tucson, AZ; 5 grandchildren Joseph, J.D., Jiovanni, Jacob and Loretta and by many great and great-great grandchildren. Lilia was preceded in death by her loving husband Sam Duran and by her granddaughter Lina Samaniego. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Getz Funeral Home where a prayer vigil will follow at 7 PM. Lilia's funeral mass to celebrate her life will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 19, 2010 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Fr. Ricardo Bauza officiating. Rite of Committal will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers are great-grandsons Jeffrey and Jered Padilla, Gabriel and Steven Gallegos, Jacob Michael and D.J. Samaniego.
