Lloyd E. Freeland

Lloyd E. Freeland, 83, of Las Cruces, New Mexico died Tuesday August 22, 2006. Lloyd was born on June 15,1923 in Tracy, Indiana. A U. S Army Veteran, Lloyd was a long time worker for the Physical Science Laboratories at New Mexico State University in 1986. Lloyd and his wife of 61 years, Mary, were active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Together they served a Church mission to Rapid City, South Dakota working primarily among the Native Americans of the area. Lloyd and Mary served a second mission at the Church's Family History Center in Salt Lake City and upon returning to Las Cruces, continued their pattern of service to others by serving in the Albuquerque Temple for two years. Lloyd lived his cheerful life by the motto "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you". Lloyd is survived by his wife Mary, son Kent and daughter-in-law Vickie of Tucson, Arizona and brother Harvey Freeland of LaPorte, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3215 Venus Street, on Friday August 25 at 11:00 am. A viewing will occur an hour prior to the service. Internment will be at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Las Cruces. PDF Printable Version
