Lois Christensen passed away at her home on July 1, 2008, at the age of 93. She was born in Berino, N.M. on December 14, 1914 to Albert and Edna Bloxom. She lived all of her live in Dona Ana County. After her retirement as an administrative officer at White Sands Missile Range she was very active in many organizations. Some of the organizations included the Mesilla Valley Arts Guild, Toastmistresses, Women's Improvement Association and National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. During her membership with the NARFE Association she was very involved with their fundraising efforts for Alzheimer's. Lois is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lester Christensen; daughter, Beatrice Hunter and husband, Keith, of Las Cruces, grandson, Derrick, of Las Vegas, Nevada; son from a previous marriage, Earl James Bivins, grandchildren Jimmie, Vernon, Terry, and Verda; sister, Anna Mae Johnston of Hobbs, N.M. and brother, Burle Bloxom of T or C., and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alzheimer's or to Mesilla Valley Hospice. Services will be held at a later date. PDF Printable Version
