Lola Sedillo Moya, 99, peacefully passed away in her home on Monday, November 30, 2020. Lola was born May 4, 1921, in Monticello, New Mexico, to Jose M. and Teresa Montoya Sedillo. She is survived by four sons, Frank L. (Erni), Steve (Sally), Joey (Cynthia) and Billy (Linda), her most cherished sister and friend Susie Davis of Las Cruces, and many beloved family members. Lola was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Frank J. (Angela), Liza (Eric), Melanie (Yvette), Stephen (Caitlen), Joe Mike, Jimmy (Erika), Jay (Gina), Gabe (Krystal), Jeff (Kathleen), Tony (Danielle), Andrea (Orlando), and 31 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband (Frank B.) of 70 years whom she met while he served as a member of the Civilian Concentration Corps in Monticello, New Mexico. They married and he moved to Fort Lewis, Washington, pending his World War II deployment to Europe. Lola was also preceded in death by three brothers Gregg, Lloyd, and Hermilo Sedillo, and two sisters Mary Bourguet, and Margaret Romero. She loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of Our Lady of Health Catholic Church of Las Cruces, where she was deeply involved with her family in the annual La Verbena Fiesta fundraising activities. Lola's interests included doing challenging Search-a-Word puzzles, crocheting, embroidering, and quilting. She mastered the art of quilting and crocheting, creating beautifully decorative pieces. She gifted her children and grandchildren with beautiful colorful quilts and strikingly designed afghans, giving them something extra cozy to curl up in. Some of her most cherished times were cooking for her family during the holidays. Lola was gifted in the kitchen, and she shared her great love for cooking through her treasured recipes of red chile, chile relleos, and homemade tortillas. Her family is blessed with her cherished recipes that continue to be passed on. She was an avid sports' fan who loved the Chicago Cubs, rarely missing televised games. She was also a lifetime member of the Mayfield High School Booster Club, and an active New Mexico State University Aggies fan. Her love for God, zeal for life as well as her strength and courage will continue to live on through her children and grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 1:30 pm and funeral mass to follow at 2:00 pm.
