Lorene Taylor, 92 of Hatch, NM died on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso. Lorene was born September 5, 1914 in Non, Oklahoma to Frank and Ellie Mae Purser. Lorene Taylor, 92 of Hatch, NM died on Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Providence Memorial Hospital in El Paso. Lorene was born September 5, 1914 in Non, Oklahoma to Frank and Ellie Mae Purser. She had first moved to Hatch, NM in 1941 with her late husband Elmo E. Taylor. They owned Hatch Insurance Agency and Taylor Lumber. Lorene was also a member of Salem Baptist Church. Lorene is survived by her daughter, Zelda F. Chavez of El Paso, TX; six grandchildren, Terry L. Chavez of Hatch, NM; Charles E. Chavez of El Paso, TX; David L. Chavez of Pensacola, FL; Robert A. Chavez of El Paso, TX; Brenda L. Schneider of Anthony, NM and Dwayn E. Chavez of El Paso, TX; 18 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. One sister, Maxine Blue of California, also survives her. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmo E. Taylor in 1984, her son in law, Procopio "Popo" in 1998 and a grandson Dennis A. Chavez in 1996. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Salem Baptist Church, in Salem, NM. Funeral Services will follow at 11 AM with Rev. Larry Barlow and Rev. Jim Wood officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, NM. Serving, as pallbearers will be Terry, Charles, Robert, Dwayn, CJ, and Jacob Chavez. PDF Printable Version
