Lorenza C. Galvan

Lorenza C. Galvan, 90, of Silver City, NM died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011. She was born May 9, 1921 in Fabens, TX to Domingo and Antonia Chavirra Castillo. She enjoyed the outdoors, working in the garden, loved animals and was fondly known as a GRANDMOTHER within the Hatch School System. Lorenza was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her three sons Alex Galvan and wife Emma of Las Cruces, Fred Galvan and wife Dixie of Yreka, CA and Raul Galvan and wife Chris of Oxnard, CA; daughter Mary Arellin and husband Julian of Silver City, NM; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving her are three brothers Florentino, Marino and Nick; five sisters Enriqueta, Juanita, Romie, Nellie and Maria and by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorenza was preceded in death by her loving husband Consuelo Galvan, her grandson Julian Arellin Jr, two brothers and one sister. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am to 10:00 am on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch, NM where her prayer vigil will follow at 10:00 am. Lorenza's funeral mass to celebrate her life will follow at 10:30 am with Fr. Ray Flores officiating. Rite of Committal is at Garden of Memories Cemetery also in Hatch, NM. The honor of being a pallbearer goes to Ramon, Robert and Rudy Galvan Jr., Johnny Arellin, Ramon Martinez and Martin Esparza. PDF Printable Version
