Loretto "Lorie" Anthony Ognibene Gulino, M.D., deceased March 31, 2022, age 91. Lorie was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he was a friend to all who knew him. He was born on his grandfather's farm in the rural small town of North East, Pennsylvania and grew up in suburban Rochester, New York, graduating from Irondequoit High School in 1948. In 1952, he obtained a B.S. degree in psychology from the University of Rochester and, in 1957, he received an M.D. from the University of Buffalo medical school. After several years of internship and residency, he opened one of the first private-practice radiology and diagnostic imaging offices in the Rochester area in 1961.

With partners George Tirone and Phillip Clarke, he would practice radiology until retiring from full-time work in 1989. In the mid-1980s, his office was the first private (non-hospital) location in the Rochester area to obtain a then-new CT scanner. He continued to practice part-time at both his former office and for Eastman Kodak's in-house clinic until fully retiring from the practice of medicine in 1995.

As a proud western New Yorker, he was a long-time Buffalo Bills fan. He enjoyed golf with his friends and family and loved to play tennis. As one of the driving forces behind the "early bird" doubles group at Mid-Town Tennis club in Rochester, he played tennis five days per week in retirement. Whichever court he was playing on was always the loudest and the most fun.

Lorie loved movies. Anytime he saw a movie he knew on television, especially if it was in black and white, he would invariably describe it as a ‘classic' and invite everyone to watch it with him. He loved to take family vacations by car with his children and to visit his grandchildren. In 2012, he and his wife relocated to southern New Mexico for the warmer climate and to stay near family.

Lorie was preceded in death by his father Ciro Gulino (1963), his mother Mary Ognibene Gulino (1982), his older brother Pascal ("Pat") (2008), and Pat's wife Anna (2017). He is survived by his wife of almost 67 years, Lorraine; sister-in-law Theresa; four children: Daniel (Mary Ann), Paul (Julye Bidmead), Barbara Van Arsdale, and Richard; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
