Louis D. Lane, 87, of Farmington, NM and formerly of Las Cruces, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011. He was born Feb. 22, 1924 in Paducah, TX to Charles and Mattie Young Lane. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served our country honorably during WW II. Louis had been the owner/operator of Kay Equipment Sales here in Las Cruces with many years of faithful service to our community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his daughter Sandy Lobato of Bloomfield, NM and son Alvin McMillan of Las Cruces. Also surviving him are 9 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Mr. Lane was preceded in death by his loving wife Evelyn Lane. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011 at Getz Funeral Home. Funeral Services to celebrate his life are at 2:00 pm on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 also at Getz Funeral Home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Griffith of Santa Clara Baptist Church in Santa Clara, NM. The United States Navy and the Devil Dogs Marines of Las Cruces will provide military honors.
