Louise M. Alley, 99 died peacefully Saturday, August 13, 2005 at the University Terrace Good Samaritan Village, Las Cruces, NM. Born in Ensley, Alabama on July 15, 1906, Louise spent her youth in Texas, Louisiana and Alabama. With her good sense of humor, positive outlook and intelligence she had many friends and was active in family church and community affairs. While in college she met Rembert Alley and they married on July 11, 1928 at Saint James Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Together they raised their family in Schenectady, New York, Erie, Pennsylvania and St. Louis, Missouri. After Rembert retired from General Electric in 1967 they traveled to Europe, the Far East and Mexico and the Caribbean, resided in Hardwick, Massachusetts, Barbados West Indies, Roswell, New Mexico, and in 1985 moved to and remained in Las Cruces. Louise and Rembert had been married for 76 years at the time of his death in March of this year. Survivors include daughter Carolyn Denison and husband William Denison of Meredith, New Hampshire, son Rembert C. Alley Jr. and wife Catherine Alley of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Grandchildren Cynthia Louise Iverson-Sacco, Robert Lars Iverson, Susan Alley Taylor, Rembert Caven Alley III and Daniel Carlson Alley. Survivors also include Great grandchildren Arianna, Janine and Olivia Sacco; Kavleigh, Leanne and Elizabeth Iverson; and Ryan Christopher and Jacob Tyler Alley. At Louise's request a cremation has taken place, her's and Remberts's ashes will be buried beside their daughter Mary Louise Alley at Memory Garden Cemetery in Albany, New York. A family ceremony will be held at graveside, and in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice. PDF Printable Version
