Lowell Foreman

Mountain Dew will be sipped and bullets reloaded in memory of Lowell Foreman, 76, who passed away late last Tuesday April 29th' 2014. Lowell was born on December 15th 1937 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to Murlene and Robert "Red" Foreman. He spent his childhood years thinking of ways to avoid attending school and laughing at the trouble he was notorious for getting into. He met his wife, Jeanette Parten Foreman, in 1957 at the Shamrock drive-in. They were married for 56 years and had three children. "We loved to travel but could never find our way home" laughs Jeanette, "we were always getting lost". He traveled to Sherman, Texas in the 1950's to begin work at Hardwick-Etter and moved back to Las Cruces in 1959, where he held multiple jobs until 1985 when he took a job as a site supervisor for Lockheed Martin Corp., where he worked until his retirement in 2006. Lowell was a member of the Masons, the Scottish Rite, and an avid member of the NRA, due to his love of shooting, rebuilding, and reloading guns. He loved spending time with his family and friends at the shooting range, "I learned to be a bit of a tom boy, shooting guns, picking up brass, and riding four wheelers" Cheryl, his daughter, tells us of her Dad. Not only did he have a passion for shooting and reloading, but he had a passion for teaching others about his favorite hobby, his grandsons were frequent students. Lowell was blessed with an incredible free spirit; he loved riding ATVs almost as much as he loved shooting his guns. He was never hesitant to try something new, whether that be riding a roller coaster or snorkeling in Hawaii. The laughter he developed as a child forever stayed with him, as he was always laughing, and was often one to make "light" in any situation. His daughter, Denise, remembers that he was one of the only people capable of making her laugh so hard that she would end up on the floor in hysterics. His sense of humor often carried over to the dinner table, where conversation would always end up being less than appropriate. He was known for poking fun at his friends and family, "When someone would trip or misstep he'd belly out a bull sound₦.MooooOOO" his son Les recalls. Along with the noises made when someone fell, Lowell had a nickname for everyone from his children to his grandchildren, and they were all quite creative. His laughter and humor will not be the only thing missed, everyone could expect an email from Lowell every Tuesday afternoon, to just "check in" or to share an amusing picture he came across. He carried his love of "keeping in touch" to Facebook, where wall postings and picture comments were a common occurrence. He simply enjoyed "being there" for family and friends and more importantly loved helping anyone in need. He loved his family more than life itself. Even miles away he was and will continue to be an ever-present force in many lives. His free spirit will live on forever through each of us. Lowell is predeceased by Robert Hervey Foreman (June 9th, 1985), and survived by wife Jeanette Parten Foreman, mother Murlene Foreman, daughter Denise Jackson and husband Ken. Son Les Foreman and wife Naomi. Daughter Cheryl Arnold and husband Eric. Grandchildren; Kelsie and Lucas Foreman, Tyler, Travis, Brooke, and Bailey Arnold. Sister Linda Sayner. In laws; Gloria Maggard, Mary Louise Pritchett (Harold), Doug Parten, Vance Parten and his Aunt Jeanneice Foreman, along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a WHOLE LOT of friends.
