Lucia F. Sherrock, born September 16, 1932 in Fort Fillmore, New Mexico, to Miguel and Ramona Fierro. Entered into the hope of Resurrection on July 2, 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Beloved wife of Louis E. Sherrock for fifty-nine years. Caring mother to Mary (Michael) Duffy and children, Lisa, Matt, and Tim; Louis M. (Deborah) Sherrock and children Louis T., Joseph, and Stephanie, and; Raymond (Susan Owens) Sherrock. Sister to the late Miguel Jr., Leonardo, Isidro and Margarito, and; Refugia (Max) Ramirez, Pablo (Chala), Antonio (the late Dora), Cipriano (Nora), Eliza (the late Roberto) Frietze, and Celia (Bob) Ferrier. As a military wife, Lucy created warm homes and rich friendships in Texas, Massachusetts, and Oklahoma, before her husband, Lou, retired from the Air Force in 1969, at which time they moved back to Las Cruces. Lucy was an avid bowler who was a dedicated team player in several leagues. Lucy was also a loyal supporter of EWTN and the Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word. Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church (1327 N. Miranda, Las Cruces, NM 88005) on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Donations in her memory can be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80906.
