Luverne Jewell Olson

Luverne Jewell Olson, 76, of Las Cruces, passed away on March 7, 2012. Luverne was born January 17, 1936, in Pine Island, Minnesota. He graduated from Mankato States University and served four years in the United States Air Force. He married Nancy Van Allen August 9, 1958. He was employed by IBM, and they lived in the Twin Cities, Owatonna, and Rochester, Minnesota areas. In 2003, they moved to Las Cruces, In retirement, he enjoyed travel and volunteered extensively at Chester Woods Park in Rochester, Minnesota and the Gila cliff Dwellings National Monument and Chiricahua National Monument. He is survived by a brother, Loren Olson of Pine Island, Minnesota, and a sister, Diane Blissett, of Tempe, Arizona. His parents and daughter, Sharlyn Kay Olson preceded him in death. A memorial service for Luverne Olson will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 16 at the Getz Funeral Home chapel. PDF Printable Version
