Luz Lopez, 91, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, Nov.13, 2011. "Mama Lucy" as she was fondly known was born April 28, 1920 in Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Luz enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, raising birds, her grandchildren and was an exceptional homemaker. Mrs. Lopez will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Luz Lopez, 91, of Las Cruces, died Sunday, Nov.13, 2011. "Mama Lucy" as she was fondly known was born April 28, 1920 in Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Luz enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, raising birds, her grandchildren and was an exceptional homemaker. Mrs. Lopez will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sons Jesus Lopez, Sotero (Sal) Lopez Jr. both of Las Cruces, NM Salvador Lopez and wife Chela of Deming, NM and Luis Lopez and wife Tamera also of Las Cruces, NM; Daughters Teresita Lopez and Norberta Hinojosa and husband Ronald Fisher all of Las Cruces and by many grand and great-grandchildren. Luz was preceded in death by her loving husband Sotero Sr., and by daughter-in-law Connie Lopez. Luz family would like to give a very special Thank YOU to all the caregivers at Caring Inc. and the staff at Mesilla Valley Hospice for the exceptional care they gave to Mama Lucy. Graveside Services to celebrate her life will be at 2 pm on Wednesday Nov. 16, 2011 at Masonic Cemetery with Fr. Don Adamski officiating. The privilege of being a pallbearer goes to Lauro Hinojosa Jr., Matthew, Gabriel, Sal III, Jaime, Salvador Jr., Rafael and Luis Lopez. PDF Printable Version
