Lynn Anthony Galloway, 66, entered eternal life on Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was born on August 20, 1948 at a United States military base in Heidelberg, Germany, but spent most of his childhood years in New Jersey. After enlisting in the military at age 17, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War until he received a Purple Heart and was honorably discharged. After his military service, he received an Associates degree in Computer Sciences from Brookdale Community College and worked for the majority of his career at the University of Texas at El Paso as an IT Analyst, where he eventually retired. During his later years, one of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren, who all adored their "Pop Pop". Retirement also allowed him to perfect his photography skills, travel and reconnect with distant relatives. Lynn lived his life to the fullest and made lasting memories with those he loved that will be cherished by many for years to come. Those who knew him will always remember him as a man of his word who had a profound loyalty to his family and desired the very best for his daughters and grandchildren. His keen ability to haggle, good taste and sense of humor are not soon forgotten. Lynn joined his parents Wendell and Dorothy Galloway, brother, Charles Galloway and twin sister, Linda Picknally in heaven. He is survived by his two daughters, Danielle Gemoets and Ashley Galloway, and son-in-law, Aaron Gemoets. He is also lovingly remembered by his five grandchildren, Athan, Aeson "Ace", Lillian, Ally and Abigail. A celebration of Lynn's life will be held at Getz Funeral Home, 1410 E. Bowman Ave., at 10:30 am on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of your choice PDF Printable Version
