We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved brother, Manuel C. Serna, Jr. (Manuelito) on April 8, 2020 in Mesa, AZ. He was born on December 6, 1943 in Las Cruces, NM to Manuel L. We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved brother, Manuel C. Serna, Jr. (Manuelito) on April 8, 2020 in Mesa, AZ. He was born on December 6, 1943 in Las Cruces, NM to Manuel L. Serna, Sr and Maria C. Serna. He attended MacArthur Elementary and Las Cruces High School. Growing up, he enjoyed the love of music, singing and playing the guitar and playing pool. He had a large collection of records, his favorites, "Oldies but Goodies". He enjoyed eating out and shopping, always finding a little something for someone. He made us laugh with his jokes surrounded by his many nieces and nephews and enjoyed family gatherings. He enjoyed traveling and loved Colorado where he lived for eleven years, he later moved to Phoenix, AZ. Manuel joined the USN in 1965, but due to a diagnosed illness, he was unable to complete his service. We are forever grateful to the VA for the much-needed care provided to our brother. Manuel is survived by one brother, Arturo Serna (Christina), two sisters, Cecilia Ayers (John), Ernestine Torres (Richard) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and two aunts. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents and many family members. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers offered during our brother's illness. Dearest brother, "You will always be a part of our hearts. Go in peace." Services for Manuel will be Friday, June 26, 2020 beginning at 10:30 am, Rosary will be held at 11:00 a.m. with mass to follow at the Basilica of San Albino in Old Mesilla.
