Manuel G. Lopez, age 86 of Dona Ana, New Mexico went home to be with our Heavenly Father on December 25, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 24, 1928 in San Juan de Los Lagos Jalisco, Mexico to Abundio Lopez and Maria Gonzalez. He retired from Stahmann Farms in 1994. "He exemplified what it was to be patient, kind and loving. What a blessing to have such a great man serve as a head of our big family. While we are sad to see him go we can find solace in the fact that he is no longer suffering" PO3, Sarah Villegas, U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Maria O. Lopez. His daughters Maria E. Guerra from Dallas, TX, Amelia Navarro from Phoenix, AZ, Catalina (Patsy) Villegas, and Sylvia Lopez both from Las Cruces. His sons Juan Lopez, Robert Lopez, Richard Lopez, from Las Cruces, Fernando Lopez, from Peoria, IL, Martin Lopez from Albuquerque, NM and Arnulfo Lopez, from Florissant CO. Numerous grand children, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Salvador Lopez and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, his son Gerardo Lopez, great grandsons Roel Guerra Jr. and Miguel Andres Villegas. Visitation for Manuel will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Getz Funeral Home followed by the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the Holy Mass of Resurrection on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Purification, 5525 Cristo Rey in Dona Ana with Fr. Miguel Macaya officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Dona Ana Cemetery where he will be laid to rest. Serving as pallbearers will be Roel Guerra, Martin Lopez, Jr. Richard Lopez, Jr. Johnathan Lopez, Adrian Lopez and Jose Villegas.
