Manuel Orona Perez, "Melo" of Long Beach, California passed away on March 8, 2008. Uncle Melo was born June 17, 1923 in Mesilla, New Mexico to Valentin and Paula Perez. He is survived by his two sisters, Ramona "Renre" Apodaca and Paula "Myna" Villanueva of Downey and Long Beach, California. He is also survived by twenty nieces and nephews and by many cousins and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Eloisa Chavarria and Gertrudis "Tullie" Fresquez, and two brothers Valentin "Tini" O. Perez and Jose "Pepe" O. Perez. Memorial Services will take place on Friday, March 14, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at All Souls Catholic Church in Long Beach, California. At Uncle Melo's request cremation will take place and a family service for the committal of his cremains will be held on the 29th of March, at 10:30 A.M. at San Albino Catholic Cemetery in Mesilla, NM with Msgr.
